About

Professional seamanship built on structure, responsibility, and applied experience.

Profile

I am a professional skipper and instructor based in Sitges, working with licensed skippers who want to develop real operational competence on the water.

My work combines:

  • Advanced maneuvering training

  • Yacht deliveries

  • Skippered charters

  • Development of nautical iOS applications

Across all areas, one principle remains constant:
Structured preparation reduces risk and improves decision-making.

Instructional Background

For five years, I worked as an instructor in sailing schools, signing off required practical hours for recreational licenses and leading offshore training passages.

This included practical and theoretical instruction for:

  • Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo (PER)

  • Patrón de Yate

  • Capitán de Yate

  • ROCA radio operator certification

I conducted classroom-based theory courses as well as offshore practical passages, including repeated 48-hour Barcelona–Mallorca–Barcelona crossings.

Offshore training requires watch systems, fatigue management, weather assessment, navigation planning, and calm decision-making over extended periods.
That operational discipline directly informs how I train today.

Skippered Charters

In addition to instruction, I have worked extensively as a charter skipper in the Barcelona area, Mallorca, and Menorca.

Charter operations introduce a different layer of responsibility:

  • Guests with varying experience levels

  • Tight marina schedules

  • Weather constraints

  • Vessel care under commercial use

  • Safety management in leisure environments

Operating under these conditions sharpens situational awareness and reinforces conservative, structured decision-making — especially in port maneuvers and anchoring situations.

Yacht Deliveries

Yacht deliveries demand another level of discipline.

They require:

  • Conservative route planning

  • Systems oversight

  • Mechanical awareness

  • Responsibility for vessel and crew over distance

Deliveries reinforce the same operational mindset applied in training:

Preparation first.

Execution second.

Evaluation always.

Advanced Maneuvering Clinics

The maneuvering clinics are designed for licensed skippers who already hold certification but seek deeper competence.

The focus is not repetition.
It is structured analysis and controlled execution:

  • Environmental assessment

  • Wind and prop walk management

  • Defined maneuver planning

  • Role assignment onboard

  • Post-maneuver evaluation

The objective is not simply for a maneuver to succeed.
It is to understand why it works.

Training is conducted in small groups to ensure individual feedback, applied repetition, and measurable progress.

Technical Development – Nautical iOS Applications

In parallel with on-water operations, I design and develop nautical iOS applications published on the App Store.

These tools focus on:

  • Operational clarity

  • Structured checklists

  • Applied decision support

Software development and seamanship share the same foundation:

Clear systems.
Defined processes.
Controlled execution.

Philosophy

A skipper’s responsibility is not to impress.
It is to make correct decisions under pressure.

Confidence at sea is not built through optimism.
It is built through structured preparation and deliberate execution.

Whether conducting a charter, delivering a yacht, training offshore, or running maneuvering clinics in Sitges, the objective remains consistent:

Reduce uncertainty.
Increase clarity.
Operate with method
