Welcome to this learning app. To get the most out of it, choose the mode and settings that best match how well you already know the topic.

If you are new to the subject, or feel unsure, it is best to start in Study mode.

After pressing Start, select All on the category sheet so you can see the full range of questions and situations.

At this stage, your Study pace is not critical. Leave it on Slow or Medium so you have enough time to read, think, and understand each card before moving on.

Work through the whole deck once to get a first feel for how well you know the subject. You will be shown the front of each card with a buoy or a situation (depending on the app). Tap the picture or swipe the card left or right to reveal the back of the card with the answer and explanation.

After checking the answer, swipe right if you were confident and correct, or left if you were unsure or wrong. Continue like this through the entire deck. Above each card you can always see the current card number (for example 17/62), how many cards you have seen, and how many you have answered correctly (right swipes).

When you reach the last card, the app will show you a short summary: total time taken (minutes and seconds), number of cards seen, number of correct answers (right swipes), and your overall percentage score. Tap Back to decks to return to the main screen.

Now that you have a clearer idea of your level, you can press Start again and, instead of All, select a specific category from the menu.

Studying by category lets you focus on particular subjects and makes your learning easier and more efficient. By dividing the cards into “chunks” with a common theme, you create a clearer structure in your mind that is easier to remember. You can work through every category in turn, or concentrate only on the categories where you felt unsure.

Once you have repeated this process a few times and feel confident with the material, switch to Practice mode and run through the whole deck. For your first attempt, select Keeporder, complete the deck, and review your score. You can repeat this strategy until you are consistently achieving high scores, then switch to Shuffle to practise with the cards in a random order across the full deck.
